The announcement
The tweet read "Celebrate 30 years of Pokemon in a whole new way!" and introduced the token in connection with the brand's thirtieth anniversary campaign, using the account's verified status and 16,600 views in its first minutes to give the launch apparent legitimacy.
Dexerto reported the same evening that the account had been hacked and was promoting a scam token, a post that reached more than 555,000 views.
Price action
The token traded to an all-time high of approximately $980,000 in market capitalisation before retracing. Volume persisted well after the tweet was removed, with the chart showing a second expansion on renewed attention rather than an immediate collapse.
