Overview
Mesh ($MESH) is a Solana token promoted on 27 August 2026 through the compromised official @nvidia account on X. The post introduced "Mesh, the open compute network for AI," describing a network that connects idle NVIDIA GPUs so machines can run AI workloads and earn for contributing, and amplified a launch post from an account called @earnmesh.

What happened
The account was hacked and used to lend credibility to a token launch rather than to announce an NVIDIA product. Observers noted the scale of the opportunity relative to the outcome: control of a verified account belonging to one of the largest companies in the world could have moved equity markets, and instead it was used to extract roughly $600,000 from a memecoin launch.
Price action
The token reached an all-time high of approximately $1.04 million in market capitalisation during a single vertical expansion, then collapsed to a few thousand dollars within roughly an hour as the promoting post was identified as fraudulent.

Lesson
This is the second compromised corporate account launch in as many days, following the $POKEMON incident. A verified handle, a plausible product narrative and a linked secondary account are all cheap to fabricate once an account is controlled. Treat any token announced by a major company as unverified until the company confirms it independently, and assume that liquidity in these launches exists only for the minutes before the compromise is publicised.
